But what is the BOM? And what does this mean for you?\r\n\r\nThe Border Operating Model (BOM) is a set of rules for importing products and is separate from the trade agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom.\r\n\r\nThe BOM comprises three phases spread over different dates, with different deadlines for the application of these rules. Phase 2 was initially scheduled to take place in October 2021, but has been postponed to January 1, 2022 and July 1, 2022.\r\n\r\nThe next important dates are therefore:\r\n<strong>01.01.2022 and 01.07.2022.<\/strong>\r\n<h2>First of all, Phase 2, which starts on January 1, '22;<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Complete customs declarations are then mandatory.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>No more delay of import declarations up to 175 days<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Customs controls start with imports from the EU.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>GVMS (Goods Vehicle Movement Service) goes live for UK imports.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Advance notice is required for documentary checks for agri-food products - including products of animal origin, certain by-products, high-risk foodstuffs not of animal origin (IPAFFS).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n<h2>Hereafter Phase 3, which takes effect on July 1, '22;<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Import safety and security clearances are now required.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Health certificate requirements for agri-food exports are now mandatory.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Advance notice and phytosanitary certificates for plants, plant products and wood-based products (IPAFFS) are required.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Phytosanitary certificates checks and physical checks of SPS goods at border control posts.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nWe at Bongers Expedition want you to be prepared for what lies ahead, just as we are prepared for the task ahead.\r\n\r\nIf you would like to know more, please contact our office (0174-614 416) or send an email to <a href=\"mailto:info@glg.smvpdev.nl\">info@glg.smvpdev.nl<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":6300,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[22],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6437","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-en"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Do you handle business with the United Kingdom?
